Dovizioso hopes to continue positive trend
25 June 2014 – Ducati Team's Andrea Dovizioso wants to see the outfit continue the 'positive trend' in the Dutch TT this week.
Dovizioso may have only finished eighth in Barcelona earlier this month, but he was encouraged by the pace of his Desmosedici GP14 relative to the competition and is hoping he can continue in a similar vein in Assen.
"Assen is a strange track because of the layout and also because of the weather conditions that we normally find during the race weekend," said the Italian prior to round eight in MotoGP 2014.
"For us last year's race was very difficult, but after the result we obtained in Barcelona, where we cut the gap to the leaders by half from 2013, we hope to continue this positive trend in the Netherlands," he added.
Team-mate Cal Crutchlow meanwhile will hoping for a change of fortune after suffering his third retirement in four races in Catalunya.
"Assen is definitely one of the tracks in the championship that I like the most," noted the British rider. "I had a great race there last year, taking the pole and sharing the podium with [Valentino] Rossi and [Marc] Márquez.
"There is no doubt my championship so far has been difficult, but I'm going to Assen with confidence, and we will all give 100 per cent, you can be sure of that."
