De Puniet, Lüthi join KTM test team
23 January 2016 – KTM has confirmed that it has added Randy de Puniet and Thomas Lüthi as test riders as it ramps up preparations ahead of its MotoGP bow in 2017.
The manufacturer has already debuted its KTM RC16 machine in the hands of Alex Hofmann, with Mika Kallio also conducting outings on the bike.
De Puniet spent eight years racing in MotoGP for Kawasaki, LCR, Pramac and Aspar, and also acted as a Suzuki test rider before switching to the World Superbike Championship in 2015.
Lüthi, the 2005 125cc champion, has been active in the second tier of racing since 2007, with a best overall classification of fourth in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
KTM will continue to carry out extensive testing in 2016.
