Iannone hopes Aragón a 'restart' for Suzuki
27 September 2017 – Andrea Iannone is hopeful that last weekend's Aragón Grand Prix can be viewed as a "restart" for both himself and Suzuki, having struggled for performance through most of 2017.
Suzuki, following its return in 2015, finished fourth in the Teams' standings in 2016, having taken victory at Silverstone courtesy of Maverick Viñales, and recruited race-winner Iannone from Ducati for 2017.
Iannone started the season-opening Qatar Grand Prix from the front-row but fortunes have since plummeted, with Suzuki only ninth in the standings, scoring a best race result of seventh.
Iannone, having made Q2 at MotorLand Aragón, finished only 12th, but was boosted by his feeling with the GSX-RR.
"It was not really a positive race in terms of the final result because we came to achieve better results," said Iannone.
"On the other hand, in the weekend we struggled less than in the other recent Grands Prix and I hope this might be a nice restart for Suzuki, the team, and myself.
"The most positive aspect is that together we are looking to improve, to reduce the gap with our rivals, and solve some of our problems.
"I would like to thank Suzuki for their efforts and the work they are doing and I hope that within a short time we will get to where we want to be.
"In any case I'm happy with our performance we even with the difficulties."
