Suzuki runs 'moustache' fairing at Motegi
13 October 2017 – Álex Rins and Andrea Iannone trialled Suzuki's all-new "moustache" fairing during Friday practice for the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi.
Rins was the first to test the aerodynamic update in FP1, before Iannone ran it in FP2, with both riders offering positive comments about its impact.
Suzuki's new fairing, which follows on from standout Ducati and Aprilia designs, features sizeable wings either side of the front wheel, in a bid to generate extra downforce.
"The new fairing we have keeps the wheel on the ground more and we do not do as many wheelies," said Rins, as he explained the key benefits of the device.
Iannone and Rins finished seventh and 10th respectively in second practice, with both of Friday's sessions taking place in wet conditions.
