Delétraz triumphs in second Paul Ricard race
26 June 2016 – Louis Delétraz narrowed the gap to championship leader Tom Dillmann as he claimed his second Formula V8 3.5 victory of the season at Paul Ricard.
Delétraz started from third on the grid and maintained his position across the first stint of the race, as pole man Roy Nissany kept Egor Orudzhev at bay.
Delétraz made his compulsory pit-stop earlier than his rivals and set a sequence of rapid laps to emerge in the lead once Nissany and Orudzhev also pitted.
Delétraz built a comfortable lead and ultimately triumphed, with Nissany taking the runner-up spot for a second successive race, as Orudzhev finished third.
Aurélien Panis was fourth, ahead of René Binder and Dillmann, who saw his title advantage cut to 22 points courtesy of Delétraz's victory.
Pietro Fittipaldi took his best result of the season by placing seventh, in front of Force India development driver Alfonso Celis Jr.
Artur Janosz logged his first points in ninth position as Beitske Visser demoted Yu Kanamaru late on to round out the top 10.
The next round of the season takes place at Silverstone on July 23/24
